Growing Too Fast
This little light of mine woke up with a smile on his face and a spring in his step. He helped me feed the dogs, got dressed without complaint then when I went to get ready he put his shoes on by himself and attempted to pick up dog poop on his own. I was so proud of these momentous yet tiny accomplishments!
I went out to help him pull up his pants after watching him pee in the grass and finish picking up the dog poop. He looked at me and said, "Mama do you hear that?"
"Hear what buddy?"
"You hear da burds singing?"
Followed by the briefest little boogy dance to show me when you hear music it must be time to dance - even if birds are making the music.
I smiled at him and let out a big laugh and kept a smile on my face the rest of the day. Such a simple little morning but so many big little moments to cherish.
